Inaka Excursions is operated by Julian Berthiaume, an individual operator.

Inaka Excursions provides guiding services only.

Any transportation arranged during a tour is provided as part of the guided tour experience and does not constitute an independent passenger transport service, in accordance with the notice of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism No. 国自旅第359号 (issued 1 March 2024).

Because we provide only services other than transportation and accommodation, registration as a travel agency is not required under Article 2 of the Travel Agency Act (旅行業法).

Tour Inquiry Calls are offered with a complimentary first 15 minutes. Extended consultations are charged at ¥5,000 (tax included) per additional 30-minute block. Charges for extended sessions will be invoiced separately until Stripe payment integration is available.

Bookings are made via Calendly or through our contact form.

Tour prices range from ¥15,000 to ¥150,000 per person depending on the tour, as indicated on each tour page. Payment methods are provided separately upon booking.

If you cancel a confirmed booking, the following applies:

• ・7 or more days before the tour: full refund
• ・3–6 days before: 50% refund
• ・Within 2 days of the tour: no refund

For the Nakasendo tour (2 or more nights) this schedule applies from 14 days before, and for the Chichibu farmhouse plan from 21 days before.

If a tour is cancelled due to severe weather or an emergency, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.

Participants take part having confirmed their own health and physical condition, and must follow the guide’s safety instructions at all times. We strongly recommend that participants obtain their own travel insurance.

Inaka Excursions limits liability to the extent permitted by Japanese law. Liability for damages caused by Julian Berthiaume’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence cannot be excluded or limited.

For tours including accommodation, the accommodation contract is entered into directly between the guest and the facility. Inaka Excursions acts solely as an introducer and assumes no liability for accommodation services.

This agreement is governed by the laws of Japan. This English version is the governing text.
